As a kid,I remembered watching my first anime which also happened to be one of the most (mature and violent) one I’ve seen in my life,Gundam Seed Destiny.While it also featured a young male protagonist,it’s a show that killed off a number of its main characters as well.If you like mechs and don’t mind the show’s dated quality and violence,then I think the show should be okay for you.
