i probably just suck at stuff though, let's be honest. cause like there's artists here that are very good and it only takes them a few pieces to get popularity and there's no algorithm so the fault's on my end :/

how many votes is that? like 2500 things? i know i've done more votes than that but you only get 10 xp max per day which i think is annoying but i guess it stops the grinders.

I drew this in about half an hour. I was going to do something more complex but I don't have enough time as I'm going to a carvery (roast dinner buffet) soon so I pumped out this crap because why not. I share a birthday with Ibuki Mioda so that's why she's there. The drawing is me in my current state (yes I wore a tie to college) because I don't really have a set design for myself yet as my hair keeps getting longer and my teeth keep not having braces. Yeah that's it. 1 more year and I can open a PayPal account.

Probably going to take a break from social media in the new year once I'm finished with all the smaller projects I'm doing currently as I feel like if I don't then I'll get burnt out and depressed and stuff. I'm going to try to stop doing as many collabs and game jams and stuff so I have less to work on so I can focus more on my main project: DDLH. Currently I'm making my album, doing the vocals and lyrics for someone in the battle of the bands competition, both the cinematic collab and the terraria collab on the newgrounds audio portal collab centre, making drawings for a youtube video I have planned and I have another idea for early 2025 but I don't have to do that right now so I'm not counting it and also college work. The collabs have deadlines (apart from the terraria one for some reason) and I'm almost finished the drawings and my album (most of the music is done) so by the time January hits I should be less busy so I can just not log on to Discord, not touch Bluesky or Tumblr (probably still go on Newgrounds though as I'm part of the monthly voting so I like to stay up to date but I won't post anything) and I can just chill, play my backlog of games and do some random drawings and try not to lose myself for a week. Then I'll have more motivation to continue on DDLH and I'll try to not do anything else until that game is finished, which might be hard as it's quite long but god damn I get distracted easily.

In other news I'm going to a carvery on Wednesday for my 17th birthday and I'm baking my cake tomorrow. It's a chocolate hedgehog cake I got from the children's section of a cookbook.

Going out to parties? Nah, I spent my halloween dealing with OpenToonz so I could get my animation out in time for the NG Halloween Spooktacular.

I've seen a lot of people here recently moving over to Bluesky, and I fucking hate Twitter with all my heart so I was wondering if it'll be worth it or would it just get too confusing?

For context: the only social media websites I open up daily are Newgrounds and YouTube (and I guess Discord and Snapchat if you stretch the definition, but all the servers I'm active in are Newgrounds ones and my college's unofficial one, and my college's unofficial Snapchat story), but I already have a Tumblr account which I also post art onto, and Cara which I'm currently in the process of uploading all of my old art onto to have 1 big portfolio but I don't use the website outside of that yet.

I read in a forum post here that Bluesky is good for game dev and artist stuff and if this does take off, then I was wondering if it would be worth it as a way to get my name out, or would it just end up being another website I navigate to whenever I upload a new piece of art (I always upload my art here first and then copy and paste the commentary bit to Tumblr when I upload it there and idk if 3, eventually 4 when I catch up with cara, is overkill). Also I have made Tumblr blogs on my big projects and idk how that would transfer to a site like Bluesky.

I remade the entire game in Godot 4 and converted all the animation videos into OGV files so now there should be no issue with the animations bugging out! There's also that little menu at the beginning and everything has been scaled to 1080p so if the sprites look a little low quality, that's why.

Hey, at least when people look back they'll notice it more than if it was right in the middle. And besides, the second I saw the mech game and the ball one, I knew I wasn't going to win.

I mean I'm a little annoyed at this as I worked hard on it, but I've come to the conclusion that I just suck at making games as I haven't made anything that goes past the 3.5 rating (art and audio doesn't count due to the smaller voting pool) and there isn't an algorithm here so it's clear I'm just bad.

They. Never. End. So many notifications because of the Wii collab that I joined because I was bored over a month ago! It jumpscared me when I first saw it as I completely forgot about it.

At least everyone who participated can reply to the reviews, which is always fun to do just to see how quickly it can turn to chaos.

In other news, college for me starts on Thursday (technically it starts tomorrow but it's some online thing) and I've been looking at the bagels that were bought for my packed lunch all week. I've never been to a public school before not counting nursery so this is going to go great. I suspect I'll be known as "that weird private school kid that wears ties with hoodies". I'm waiting for my timetable to come so I can see when I have lessons and when I can sit in the corner of my room and tap away at a keyboard. That's the cool thing about college, it's not like school or 6th form where you have to be in school from 8 'till 4. If you don't have lessons you can just leave. Annoyingly though I have to cross a roundabout just to get to my new bus stop because the council doesn't understand how good bus routes work.

Edit: I just looked through my old blog posts trying to find a specific post here and dear god I wish I could just delete them all but there's a part of me that refuses to let me do that for "preservation sake". Urghhhhhh the cringe! The ever-loving cringe! I used to use the nerwgrounds blog feature as a way to ramble on about whatever, which essentially is what my tumblr is now, but I wasn't 14 when I created my tumblr blog so that makes it instantly better.
